Moss
Moss is an artist currently living in Santa Fe, New Mexico. They grew up surfing in California and Hawai’i. They are mostly self taught and have a background in interior design.
Moss is an installation and performance artist who wields the medium needed to tell a developed story in immersive space. They are a craft person, woodworker, and a digital artist, photographer, often mixing all mediums to create both 3D and 2D works. They developed their practice from a desire to make things from scratch and create hyper realities so that people can experience spaces in a multitude of ways. They often lead ritual performances to activate the space and blur the boundaries that too often separate artist and audience.
Their latest works involve the creation of objects and altars informed but not limited by classical concepts. These altars are placed in both natural and constructed environments, transforming the surroundings and fuzzing the lines between real and hyperreal.
Moss was an artist in Meow Wolf Art Collective 2010-2014, and has continued to work in other collectives as well as individually. They won the Ignite Art Grant in 2016 through the City of Santa Fe to install art bicycle hitches throughout the city. They have shown the work of many other artists as a Lead Curator and as the current Creative Director with Curate Santa Fe since 2016, and were the Lead Curator and Creative Director at Show Pony Galley from 2017-2020.
Moss has had their work featured in numerous group and solo shows.
